Carmen Goetz & 7 Shifts Giveback Student Award
Saskatchewan Polytechnic alumna, Carmen Goetz and her employer 7Shifts set up the Carmen Goetz & 7Shifts Giveback Student Award to help students enrolled in the Computer Systems Technology program realize their aspirations and achieve their dreams. Carmen graduated in 2019 from the Computer Systems Technology program at Sask Polytech, Saskatoon Campus and decided to set up this award to help others in the way that they were supported during her time in school. Carmen received multiple student awards during their studies that helped them focus on their studies while in school without financial stress. They weren’t able to work that much while attending school, so having those awards really helped during their time there.
After graduating, Carmen started working as a Software Developer at 7Shifts, a tech company that makes restaurant labour management software located in Saskatoon and has been working there ever since. At 7shifts, Carmen has been integral to the company to achieve its goals and has been involved in committees, such as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. Outside of work, they also enjoy working on websites for local businesses.
