Christina Marling-Woodkey Memorial

Christina graduated from the Psychiatric Nursing program in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, in 1960. She trained and worked at Saskatchewan Hospital in Weyburn before being employed by St. Joseph’s Hospital and Estevan Regional Nursing Home while raising her family.

In 1970, her husband’s company relocated the family to Calgary, Alberta. After their children had grown, in 1994, Christina completed a three-year psychiatric nursing refresher course in Ponoka, Alberta.

Mental health has long been a societal concern and has now reached a crisis point in Canada. Established in memory of Christina Marling-Woodkey, these awards are meant to assist students who pursue education and careers in psychiatric nursing.
