Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat)
The Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat) was established in 2013 and represents approximately 24,000 wheat, rye and triticale producers. Sask Wheat, under the direction of its elected Board of producers, ensures that Saskatchewan’s wheat, rye and triticale farmers have the resources, leadership, and representation to strengthen Saskatchewan’s competitive advantage and ensure the interests of Saskatchewan’s farmers are protected. Sask Wheat is funded by a refundable $1.00/tonne check-off on all wheat, rye and triticale grown for sale in Saskatchewan. Check-off dollars administered by Sask Wheat go towards research, advocacy, market development, and producer communications and extension initiatives that improve varieties, strengthen markets and provide higher value to producers.
