The Jamie Hilts Memorial Award

The Jamie Hilts Memorial Award

The Jamie Hilts Memorial Award was established to honour the memory of Jamie Hilts, Dean of the School of Mining, Energy & Manufacturing, School of Natural Resources & Built Environment and Department of Co-operative Education for Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

With the help of his team, Jamie worked to ensure that students found a place in Sask Polytech’s programs. Jamie was larger than life and made a positive, lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a true inspiration, great leader, and visionary. In his 11-year career with Sask Polytech, he was instrumental in moving the organization forward and brought knowledge and expertise to many institute-wide projects. He passed away on June 25, 2022, leaving Sask Polytech a much better place than he found it.

The Jamie Hilts Memorial Award will support students and encourage their future success in those areas that he was most passionate. Students must be enrolled full-time and in year 2 in a program within the School of Mining, Energy & Manufacturing, or the School of Natural Resources & Built Environment.
